„Music Was His First Love“ – Musical Journey from Peter Wilson
‘Music Was His First Love’, tells the story of the musical journey and life of Peter Wilson, a musician whose path was shaped by the British blues. Born in the heart of London in the post-war period, Peter defies the conservative norms of his youth and immerses himself in the exciting world of London’s music scene.
His journey begins with unloved piano lessons, but the emergence of rock’n’roll ignites his passion. With electric guitar in hand, he was drawn to legendary clubs such as ‘2i’s Coffee Bar’ – the birthplace of British rock’n’roll – or the ‘Two Puddings’ in Stratford, where he performed alongside icons such as Tommy Steele and Cliff Richard as a teenager.
One day, during a gig, Peter realised that he didn’t want to end up in dance bands like other musicians. He returned to London, sold his amplifier, kept his guitar and found a job as a sales assistant at Orange Music. After some time, he soon met the managers at CBS Records and after a job offer, he came into contact with music legends such as Bonnie Tyler, Michael Jackson and Ike & Tina Turner.
The film captures the highs and lows of his journey – from a difficult time when he ran away from home at 17 to play with his band in France, to being offered the position of Director International Artist & Repertoire Manager at CBS Records in New York.
The film ‘Music Was His First Love’ is a tribute to the powerful resilience of music. An intimate portrait with many crazy and funny anecdotes that takes the audience on a journey through the highs and lows of the life of a man who found his destiny in the universal language of music.
