Support that moves – film for donations to the German Ankylosing Spondylitis Association
We made a film for the German Ankylosing Spondylitis Association to raise funds.
Chin Meyer, cabaret artist and comedian, shares his personal experience with ankylosing spondylitis, a little-researched chronic inflammatory disease of the musculoskeletal system. After being diagnosed, he had to deal with severe symptoms that fundamentally changed his life. The disease often goes unnoticed until it is very advanced.
Ankylosing spondylitis leads to pain, stiffness and limited mobility, which has a significant impact on everyday life. Around 450,000 people are affected in Germany. Chin Meyer, who lives with the disease himself, is an ambassador for the German Ankylosing Spondylitis Association.
The organisation supports those affected by providing information, local groups, seminars and online platforms to promote exchange with other sufferers. Early treatment and targeted exercise training are crucial to maintaining mobility. The association also funds research projects through donations in order to improve the quality of life in the long term and find possible cures.
The message is that living with ankylosing spondylitis is challenging, but together we can help to make it easier for those affected. Donations and sharing with like-minded people play a key role in making progress in the fight against the disease and promoting social acceptance. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a positive difference. The challenge is to work together to change the lives of people with ankylosing spondylitis and to encourage courage and progress in the fight against the disease.
