That’s why the Kirchentag is highly political. It is not party-political.

For the 39th German Protestant Kirchentag 2025 in Hanover, we once again created a cinematic “Best Of”. Alongside powerful visuals and atmospheric moments, the focus this time was especially on the voices and messages that shaped this Kirchentag.

During the event, we collected key statements – strong messages about democracy, diversity, faith, responsibility, and social cohesion. While still on site, we produced a short version for Instagram.

Afterwards, we edited a longer version from the extensive footage that not only documents the event but also tells a story.

Whether it’s climate activist Luisa Neubauer, former Chancellor Angela Merkel, theologian Hanna Reichel, or Mariann Edgar Budde – the voices featured in this film paint a multifaceted picture of a political, yet not party-political movement.

The film shows: the Kirchentag is more than a religious gathering. It is a space for listening, dialogue, and hope.
